One of the first Wesleyan churches in Victoria in the Gothic style (contemporary with Joseph Reed's church in Lonsdale Street), built in 1857-8 to the design of David Ross. It is a particularly English looking building with an axial West tower designed to contain a clock and to be crowned by four pinnacles (which, if ever built, are now lacking).
